Are Finished SafetyMat® Products Independently Certified?2026-10-11T15:51:07-04:00

No certification has been issued under the SafetyMat name for a finished SafetyMat product. SafetyMat products are manufactured using certified source materials. Those certifications apply to the source materials and their manufacturers—not to SafetyMat or the finished SafetyMat product. This distinction matters when a customer, facility, architect, or purchasing team asks for NFSI, UL, ASTM, ADA, OSHA, or other documentation. SafetyMat does not publicly identify its confidential source-material manufacturers. If your project needs information for a particular product, use the support contact below before ordering and describe the exact item, intended application, and documentation requirement.

What Does ‘Certified Source Materials’ Mean for SafetyMat®?2026-10-11T15:51:18-04:00

SafetyMat products are manufactured using certified source materials. This means the applicable certifications or documentation belong to those source materials and their manufacturers—not to SafetyMat or the finished SafetyMat product. No certification has been issued under the SafetyMat name. This wording does not mean that a finished mat is independently certified, approved for every site, or a substitute for a facility’s own review. SafetyMat keeps its source manufacturers confidential. If your purchasing team needs information for a particular product, use the support contact below and identify the product, intended use, and documentation requested.

Is SafetyMat® Vinyl?2026-10-11T15:51:17-04:00

Many SafetyMat® mats and flooring products use vinyl-based materials, but exact construction can vary by product, finish, printed layer, and adhesive. One composition statement should not be applied automatically to every standard mat, roll, custom design, or glow product. If material details affect an allergy, sensitivity, purchasing requirement, recycling decision, or facility record, identify the exact product before ordering and request the available product-specific information. Do not rely on a general FAQ to establish that every SafetyMat product is latex-free, PVC-free, recyclable, allergen-free, or suitable for a regulated application unless documentation for that exact item supports it.

Is SafetyMat® Waterproof?2026-10-11T15:51:17-04:00

Some SafetyMat® vinyl materials may be described as waterproof, but that does not make every edge, seam, drain, substrate, or completed installation waterproof. Water can still move around or beneath adjacent surfaces, and product suitability depends on the exact mat and application. Maintain drainage, follow the installation and care instructions, and inspect edges and surrounding surfaces routinely. Do not use a material-level water description as a promise against leaks, trapped moisture, mold, or substrate damage. If the project has waterproofing requirements, confirm those requirements separately and request product-specific information before ordering.

Important application note

SafetyMat® products must be selected for a compatible surface and used according to the instructions and written policies that apply to the exact product. SafetyMat® products are manufactured using certified source materials. The certifications apply to the source materials and their manufacturers—not to SafetyMat® or the finished SafetyMat® product. No certification has been issued under the SafetyMat® name. SafetyMat® does not publicly identify its confidential source-material manufacturers.
