Does Using SafetyMat® Make a Facility ADA or OSHA Compliant?2026-10-11T15:51:11-04:00

No. Installing a SafetyMat® does not by itself make a facility ADA or OSHA compliant, and SafetyMat does not claim ADA or OSHA product certification. Accessibility and workplace-safety obligations involve the full site, including routes, dimensions, transitions, drainage, housekeeping, lighting, maintenance, operations, and applicable rules. A SafetyMat product may be one component of a broader plan only when the exact surface and application are supported. Facility owners and operators remain responsible for their site-specific evaluation. Review the official 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.22, and use qualified professionals when a compliance determination is needed.

What Should a Facility Send for an Application Review?2026-10-11T15:51:20-04:00

Send enough information to show the real surface, conditions, and project scope. Include the industry and intended location, finished dimensions, surface material and condition, one full-area photo, close-ups of texture and transitions, drain or opening details, expected water exposure and traffic, current cleaning methods, quantity, delivery timing, and any documentation your purchasing team needs. For multiple locations, begin with a representative space and explain what may vary between sites. Use the support contact below to submit the package. SafetyMat can then help identify available options, unanswered questions, and the next review step without assuming that one product fits every facility.

Is One SafetyMat® Product Suitable for Every Industry?2026-10-11T15:51:16-04:00

No. One SafetyMat® product is not automatically suitable for every industry or site. Hotels, senior living communities, schools, child-care facilities, kitchens, pools, boats, RVs, stairs, and entryways can differ in surface material, moisture, drainage, temperature, sunlight, movement, cleaning chemicals, traffic, users, transitions, installation access, and documentation requirements. Start with the actual location rather than an industry label. Gather photos, measurements, exposure details, cleaning methods, and operating needs, then confirm the exact product and application before a commercial purchase or multi-location rollout. A representative-site review can prevent an unsupported one-size-fits-all recommendation.

Important application note

Choose SafetyMat for a compatible surface and follow the instructions and written policies for the exact product. SafetyMat products are manufactured using certified source materials. Those certifications apply to the source materials and their manufacturers—not to SafetyMat or the finished SafetyMat product. No certification has been issued under the SafetyMat name.
